Gucci MILK Charity Limited Edition Collection

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

To celebrate the opening of Gucci Paragon flagship store in Singapore, Gucci pleasantly announced its special collection designed by creative director Frida Giannini for the local charitable organizations Mainly I Love Kids (MILK). Inspired by new varieties of orchids, Paravanda Frida introduced by Tourism Board and Botanic Gardens of Singapore, this collection will be named with Frida Giannini.

Paravanda Frida is a hybridization of Phalaenopsis and Vanda. It is really gracefully with 20 cm inflorescence, six buds on average, 8 cm width. The sepals and petals represent chic white, vividly contrasting with the yellowish red labellum. This kind of orchid has cylindrical leaves, flowering perennial, like the sun, which symbolize strong and persistent character.

From March 2010 Paravanda Frida will be displayed in Singapore’s National Orchid Garden which is the most complete and permanent orchid exhibition hall in Asia.

Frida Giannini said: “It is my great honor to name this beautiful and pure flower. I am looking forward to my first visiting of Singapore in April and witnessing these gorgeous orchids.”

The Frida Giannini special collection has been available at Gucci Paragon flagship store in Singapore. The sales proceeds of Boston handbag will be totally donated to charitable organizations in Singapore Mainly I Love Kids (MILK).

Dior “3D” Bag

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Leave it to Carla Bruni-Sarkozy to get first dibs on the new must-have Dior bag for fall! France’s First Lady, who will join her husband at the White House for dinner with the Obamas , was photographed with Dior’s new “3D” bag while out and about in New York City over the weekend. Isn’t it chic? From the Fall 2010 collection, the statuesque former model is carrying the teak colored calfskin version (it will also be available in black and a rosy petal, as well as lizard, python, croc and Breit (similar to Astrakhan) versions) in the medium size (a smaller version is also available). At first glance it’s almost easy to overlook the bag as subtle as it is. But look closer: note the timeless, no-fuss structured shape; the elegantly braided leather conjoined with metal brackets of the adjustable double buckle strap; the seemingly upside-down wave effect of the leather flaps and, of course, the spiked silver clasp that bears the brand’s subtle initials. It’s a great day bag for both working women and the ladies who lunch. I love how Carla pairs it with a casual blazer and oversized scarf while out for a stroll. This bag, which arrives in stores in August, will look sublime in keeping with the fall season’s pared down, minimal aesthetic.

$2,200 for the small version & $2,400 for the medium size

Cooperating with Illustrator Pierre Le-Tan, Coach Launched Limited Handbag

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Maybe it is not appropriate to say so, but I still think I am a young girl in my deep heart although I am 24 years old. I like cartoons, comic book and other things which should belong to little girl’s patents. I always think they are active, interesting, beautiful and fresh. Maybe it is every girl’s dream: owning infinite innocence and youth. So, me too. A ha, I have already gone far from my theme. Therefore, come back.

I guess, to satisfy our girl’s above psychology, in this spring, Coach cooperated with the famous illustrator Pierre Le-Tan and launched this limited edition luxurious sea beach handbag collection.

Pierre le Tan is famous for his extreme poetic pattern designs and perfect use of color all over the world. These three eye-catching beach bags are decorated by a series of vibrant, creative and fresh beach illustrations. This collection cleverly shows the vivid and fresh beach theme sketch: hand-painted umbrellas, sea horse, beach huts and other beautiful patterns, full of humorous sense and seasonal characteristics. In this bright, fresh and sunshine spring or summer, carrying the active beach series handbag, go to the beach and giving yourself a relaxing and pleasant romantic travel.

As we all known, Pierre le Tan is a world-known author and illustrator, meanwhile he is the main designer of most world-renowned publishing and creative cover works. I do not know whether he is yours, but he is really my idol. So, if you like Coach and Pierre le Tan, don’t miss this chance.
